Hello All. This is my first post to you as my family historian. I am the great great Grandaughter of Silas Spear and his family. My Gr Grandmother was Louisa Begor. Gr.Gr. Grandfather Silas came to Chateaugay in the late 1840′s – 1850 from the Burlington VT area. He settled on the Narrows along with the Labon Harris, McPherson and Shutts familys. I’ve heard he gave the land for Lakeside Cemetery to the town and a huge number of our Spear relatives are buried there. My father always spoke of the visits to Chateaugay and the vists with his cousin Anna Sherman. I guess it was the place to be and from the newpaper articles and references to my family, the community was very social. I will look for photos, most of them family in the 1940′s.
Kindest regards

Hi, I would like a picture of the John Miles home across from Bellows Place. Saw one somewhere but can’t find it again. Would like it for the book I’m writing about the Early Settlers. When did the Miles Family move there?
