    1. Yes, it is. It is a geocashe site now and has a large jar containing a notebook and pen and trinkets. The idea is to record your name, leave a trinket and take one. These sites are all over the world. We visited last summer. Hope you can, too.

    1. Last time I went, it was located near the top and more or less on the west (i.e., the side towards the highway), behind a log, in a plastic bag. Good luck.

  1. my family visited the ampitheater on our trip to ADK. I am also looking for history. I noted a couple of other structural remains to the the theater and was hoping to get history on the area. It appears there is more that than it noted in anything I can find. Please provide any resources that I can research. Thanks much!

    1. Well hello ‘neighbor’. 🙂 There are some newer articles now that you can find about this place. My kids and I go a few times each summer and the whole family, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, kids and even some friends all took an excursion to see the place when someone had geocashed it (they seem to do this every once in a while.. last summer my daughter found the geocashe container).

  2. Found stone remnants in tne woods around Merrill NY which resembled a miniature ampitheater. There was some writing carved into the stone and inlaid with tiny ceramic tiles. Not sure if these were symbols or letters. Does anybody have amy info on this???
