This is Main Street in Chateaugay, date unknown. At left is the Chateaugay Hotel and at right is the Bank of Chateaugay. Most of the other buildings have been demolished or destroyed by fire.

  1. The Hotel Chateaugay was owned by my grandfather, KIN HANA from Au Sable Forks, some time during the 1930s-40s. He was the only Japanese-American businessman, and in all probability the only Asian (according to one news story), in the Adirondack region during that era.
